HCFC phase-down in Brazil
A few figures from the Brazilian Ministry of Environment.
The Brazilian Ministry of Environment announced that the Brazilian Program for the Elimination of Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) had already enabled the reduction of 34% of the consumption of these gases from 2013, whereas the Montreal Protocol’s target was 35% for the year 2020. The second phase of the Brazilian HCFC Program plans to reduce consumption by 51.6% from January 2021. The substance is to be completely eliminated in 2030.
