International events: Zurich

The IIR-co-sponsored 9th IEA Heat Pump Conference, held in Zurich, Switzerland, on May 20-22, 2008 was a great success. It brought together 450 people from 36 countries. Three Peter Ritter von Rittinger awards were presented to Prof. Eric Granryd, Dr. Gerald Groff and Prof. Predrag S. Hrnjak, all well-known persons in the IIR network. Best poster awards were also given. The conference showed the expansion of heat pumps all over the world, as a good tool to mitigate climate change.
