Sainsbury’s was founded in 1869 and has grown to become one of the UK’s largest retailers.

The engineering team delivers sustainable solutions including refrigeration, HVAC, ground source heat pumps, CHP, photovoltaic arrays, lighting, power distribution, fire protection, security, lifts and travelators for supermarkets, convenience stores, distribution centres and central offices. Sainsbury’s is constantly adapting the latest technology to give the best experience for customers in the most sustainable way.

Right now, you must have or be on course to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree in any subject, although degrees in engineering are preferred. You will already have 1 A and 2 Bs at A Level and a B in GCSE maths and English.
Over the next two years, you will rotate through the Property team, gaining and end-to-end appreciation of the Property process. You will also spend four months in store, so you’ll broaden your understanding of retail too. You will work with the supply chain to appreciate engineering design, manufacturing and delivery processes. Should you wish Sainsbury’s will support you in CPD towards membership of a professional engineering body. The career opportunities are exceptional.
