Danfoss is improving its range of electric expansion valves and has started construction of an energy-efficient supermarket.

ETS electric expansion valve

Danfoss recently announced improvements to its range of ETS electric expansion valves, used in heat pumps, close controls and process chillers. Available in 4 different sizes, their cost of application can be reduced by only using one valve in both flow directions.

The valves have been designed to deliver high accuracy, performance and energy efficiency and are ideal for use in applications where the temperature must remain constant 24 hours a day.

Danfoss has drawn on its expertise and experience to support its customers in the transition to low GWP refrigerants. The ETS 8M series is compatible with R454B as well as R32.

Construction of a supermarket in Nordborg

At the end of March, Danfoss started building of one of the supermarkets considered to be one of the most energy-efficient  in the world. This “Smart Store” will be equipped with innovative cooling and heating technology: the heat produced by the sales cabinets will be reused to heat the supermarket. The cooling system will operate on CO2 as a refrigerant.

Additionally, this site will serve as an Application Development Center where Danfoss will work together with partners to co-develop new technologies and explore interfaces in the energy system surrounding energy storage.

Danfoss has been an IIR benefactor member since 1977.
