The UK Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) is calling for nominations for the prestigious J&E Hall Gold Medal. This internationally respected award recognises the most noteworthy practical contribution to the field of innovation in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology.

The award has been sponsored by J&E Hall International consistently for 44 years with a prize award of £5,000, and is open to individuals or teams responsible for recent practical technology advancement in one or more of the following areas:

  • Practical applications of innovative designs.
  • RACHP installations, developments, and technologies that have made an original contribution to the field.
  • Systems that demonstrate substantial potential and evidence that they will be completed successfully.
  • Outstanding and significant work in a new or unusual area of design and installation.

The award is designed to encourage progress rather than acknowledge past achievement and the winner will join a select list of recipients that includes refrigeration greats such as Prof. Gustav Lorentzen, Prof. Prga Hrnjak, Dr Mark McLinden, and Prof. Eckhard Groll.

The winner will be announced during the IOR Annual Dinner which will take place on February 23, 2023, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London St Pauls in London.
