IIR conferences 

 

Over 150 delegates joined the 10th IIR Conference on Ammonia and CO 

 

The 10th IIR Conference on Ammonia and CO2 Refrigeration Technologies took place on April 27-29, 2023, in Ohrid (North Macedonia).  

As a well-established event in the IIR portfolio focusing on the intensifying global trend towards using natural refrigerants, the conference welcomed over 150 participants from 35 countries. 

Delegates shared 40 quality scientific and technical papers, including 5 keynote presentations such as “Smart CO2 refrigeration and heat pumping systems” by Armin Hafner (Norway, NTNU) and “Evolution of the CO2 refrigeration technology from 2000, applications and an outlook for the next several years” by Sascha Hellmann (Germany, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration).

The CRYOGENICS 2023 IIR conference attracted 36 expert lectures 

 

Organised jointly by IIR Commissions A1 (Cryophysics & cryoengineering), A2 (Liquefaction & separation of gases) and C1 (Cryobiology, cryomedicine & health products), the 17th edition of the IIR Cryogenics conference took place on 25-28 April 2023 in Dresden, Germany. 

Despite having to revise initial plans due to the geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe, the event attracted a respectable 120 participants from 19 countries. 

Over the three-day programme, delegates gained insight from 36 expert lectures, 2 commercial presentations, 11 poster presentations, and 12 exhibitors. 

 

Other events 

 

14th IEA Heat Pump Conference  

 

The International Energy Agency organises an international conference dedicated to heat pumps every three years. The last edition took place from 15 to 18 May 2023 in Chicago (USA). It was attended by nearly 400 participants from 25 countries and 170 papers and posters were presented. Min Soo Kim, Chairman of the IIR General Conference, gave an introduction and Didier Coulomb, Director General, gave a plenary lecture.
