The IIR is involved in a new project called Cool-Save. This 30-month European project comprises the development and dissemination of cost-effective strategies designed to improve energy efficiency in cooling systems in the food and drink sector.
It includes the elaboration of a guide to good practice enabling the food and drink industries to establish measures that significantly reduce their electrical consumption through the implementation of improvements in their cooling systems.
The project involves 9 partners from 6 EU members. As partner of this project, the IIR will be a member of the Communication and Dissemination Committee and will also publish documents (press releases, brochures, guide to best practices). There is still time for European food and drink companies to participate in the data acquisition process.
The project consortium will choose the 25 refrigeration plants (the most relevant in terms of geographic areas, equipment and refrigerants used) among the candidates.
