The IIR worldwide (June 2019)

Milan and Bruges

The 18^th European Conference “Latest Technologies in Refrigeration and Air conditioning” organised by Centro Studi Galileo in cooperation with the IIR and UN Environment took place in Milan (Italy) on June 6-7, 2019. It gathered more than 300 participants. It was coordinated with the European Partnership for Energy and Environment (EPEE )which organised another European event, EUREKA in Bruges (Belgium) on June 11-12, 2019. The aim was to present the various worldwide and European challenges in all refrigeration fields.

Brussels

The European commission organised the European Sustainable Energy week on June 17-21, 2019. EPEE organised a side-event in Brussels (Belgium) dedicated to cooling, which was the only one in its field and the IIR Director General was the keynote speaker : the aim was to emphasize the fast, increasing demand in cooling in the world, as well as in Europe, and the role that companies as well as governments and the EU should play in order to organise this demand in a sustainable way.

ATMOsphere America

Attracting a large number of participants, the 8^th annual ATMOsphere America event took place in the sunny city of Atlanta, Georgia, on June 17-18, 2019.

Focusing on the national US market, but with an international perspective, specialists, policy makers and end-users gathered to learn about the most recent developments of natural refrigerants in the sector.

Industry experts provided the audience with exclusive insight on the latest technology trends including R290 in light commercial refrigeration, rejuvenated heat pumps with CO₂ in mobile air conditioning or transcritical CO₂ industrial refrigeration systems.
