Update about mandatory energy labelling for professional refrigirators and freezers in the European Union
Professional refrigerated equipments sold since July 2016 must now be rated from A to G for energy efficiency.
In the EU, mandatory energy labelling for professional refrigerators and freezers has come into effect on July 1st, 2016. The labelling scheme based on a new EU Ecodesign requirement uses a letter-based rating from A to G, where A denotes the most energy saving products. Any equipment sold after this date must have a G rating or above for energy efficiency. To further improve energy efficiency the energy thresholds will be tightened at yearly intervals. This means that class A+++ will be introduced on July 1st, 2019.
