UPS adds 48 more heavy-duty LNG tractor trucks to fleet
UPS recently purchased another 48 heavy tractor trucks equipped to run on LNG. The new LNG tractors will pull trailers between Ontario, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada, along with UPS’s 11 existing LNG tractors.
UPS recently purchased another 48 heavy tractor trucks equipped to run on LNG. The new LNG tractors will pull trailers between Ontario, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada, along with UPS’s 11 existing LNG tractors.
UPS now has more than 1100 natural-gas-powered vehicles in service. Compared with the vehicles they replace, the new LNG vehicles are expected to produce 25% fewer greenhouse gas emissions and use 95% less diesel fuel.
The trucks feature fuel injectors, LNG fuel tanks with integrated cryogenic fuel pumps, and electronic components to facilitate robust performance and reliable operation. The trucks have a 966-km range.
