Résumé

The effect of ethylene concentration on the quality and occurrence of physiological disorders on Fuji apples stored in controlled atmosphere with 1 kPa O2/0.2 kPa CO2 at 0.5 °C was studied. The fruits were evaluated after 9 months of storage plus 7 days of shelf life at 25 °C. The Fuji apples presented low sensitivity to high ethylene concentrations during controlled atmosphere storage and therefore absorption of ethylene in commercial storage chambers is not considered necessary.
