At ICR 2023 in Paris, the IIR's CaRe (Career in Refrigeration) working group organised an INWIC (International Network of Women in Cooling) round table on Monday 21 August 2023. The panellists, four women from different sectors of the refrigeration industry (international organisations, governments, industry, research and education), were asked how women could overcome barriers to improve their careers in this sector, based on their experiences.
The afternoon of Wednesday 23 August was then dedicated to young people, with two award ceremonies: the IIR Young Researchers Awards and the Best Student Paper Competition.
This was followed by a student networking session. Nearly 60 students and young researchers had the opportunity to exchange ideas, share their passion for research and discuss career opportunities with around 20 senior experts and professionals. It was an exceptional opportunity to make lasting connections and initiate potential collaborations.
How to join this working group?
Anyone interested in those issues is invited to become a member of the IIR. Members of the working group are expected to be either private members or representatives of corporate members of the IIR. For more information, you can write to: info@iifiir.org.
