Heat transfer phenomena during oscillations in an "air conditioning pulse tube": selected thermal equilibration components and phenomena.

Summary

The need for exploration of forthcoming uses of natural refrigerants has induced extensive R&D work on thermoacoustic refrigeration systems, among them the low frequency pulse tube. This type of system is designated as air conditioning pulse tube (ACPT). A pulse tube (ACPT type) using inexpensive components, such as a PVC pulse tube section, has been constructed. The paper reports heat exchange measurements and initial performance data for the present ACPT prototype.
