THE CRYOGENIC SYSTEM, WHICH IS A SECOND STEP TO DEVELOP A LARGE AND RELIABLE HELIUM CRYOGENIC SYSTEM FOR FUSION, WAS DESIGNED TO HAVE A MAXIMUM REFRIGERATION CAPACITY OF 1,000 W OR A MAXIMUM LIQUEFACTION CAPACITY OF 300 L/H AT 4.5 K ; THIS PERMITS TO COOL THE LCT (LARGE COIL TASK) COIL DOWN TO 4 K IN 120 HOURS. THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE AND CONTROL SYSTEM WERE SPECIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TECHNICAL INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE CLUSTER TEST FACILITY (CTF).
