Summary

THE MODEL CALCULATES THE TRANSIENT THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF EACH ROOM OR OF THE WHOLE BUILDING, REFERRING TO THE HOURLY VALUES OF EXTERNAL AIR TEMPERATURE AND SOLAR FLUX OF THE MEAN MONTHLY DAY. IN THE CASE STUDIED, HEAT LEAKAGES DUE TO THERMAL ACCUMULATION IN INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL WALLS AMOUNT TO ABOUT 45% OF THE OVERALL LEAKAGES IN THE CASE OF ROOMS NOT EXPOSED TO THE SUN, WHEREAS THEY ARE NEGLIGIBLE IF THE ROOMS ARE WELL EXPOSED TO THE SUN. CONSEQUENTLY, THE STEADY-STATECALCULATION METHODS SPECIFIED BY THE STANDARDS IN FORCE DO NOT SEEM SUITABLE.
