Summary
A NEW METHOD OF CALCULATING COOLING LOAD FROM SOLAR GAINS THROUGH GLAZED SURFACES WAS DEVELOPED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT CHANGEABLE SHADOWS DURING THE DAY. THE PHYSICAL BASIS OF THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR HEAT TRANSFER IN THE ROOM WAS GIVEN. STORAGE LOAD FACTORS WERE DETERMINED AND PRESENTED IN THE TABLES FOR THE CASES OF EXTERNAL LOUVERS AND OVERHANGS. THE EQUATIONS AND TABLES ENABLE THE USE OF THE NEGATIVE COOLING LOAD METHOD IN DESIGNING.
