Summary

THE HEAT EXCHANGER USED IN THE STUDY CONSISTS OF 2 CONCENTRIC METAL PIPES WITH THE EXHAUST AIR VENTED THROUGH THE CENTER PIPE. THE COMPUTER HAD THE CAPABILITY TO OPERATE HEATING, VENTILATION, AND HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEMS AUTOMATICALLY. RESULTS FROM A WINTER STUDY SHOW THAT THE FLOCK USING THE HEAT EXCHANGER WITH COMPUTER CONTROL USED 35.6% LESS ENERGY THAN A CONTROL FLOCK.
