Summary
This study presents a detailed analysis of a small air-conditioning system. Detailed simulations for each component, namely the compressor, condenser, expansion device, and evaporator were made. The influence of complex circuitry design for both condensers and evaporators are also included. The computer software is designed and running under Windows system. Applicable refrigerants include R22 and R410A. Comparisons were made with four air conditioners. Deviations of the capacity prediction is less than 4% and predicted energy efficiency ratios are within 10%.
