Summary

NOTES THAT AROUND 1% OF THE POPULATION WILL BE INFECTED BY A LEGIONELLA BACTERIUM EACH YEAR, ALTHOUGH 90% OF THE 600,000 CASES IN W. GERMANY WILL BE TOO MILD TO BE NOTICED. AROUND 60,000 CASES WILL BE SEEN AS A MILD FLU, PLUS THERE WILL BE 6,000 CASES OF SEVERE LUNG INFLAMMATION. AROUND 1,000 TO 1,500 INFECTIONS WILL RESULT IN DEATH. ILLUSTRATES 8 COLOURED PLATES OF LEGIONELLA BACTERIA IN VARIOUS STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT.
