Summary
A SIMPLE METHOD OF FINDING APPROXIMATE CONTROL STRATEGIES FOR COMBINED HEAT RECOVERY AND STORAGE PROCESSES IS PRESENTED. THE SYSTEM CONSIDERED IS A SPACE HEATING SYSTEM EMPLOYING A HEAT PUMP. THE TECHNIQUE IS BASED ON ENERGY BALANCE PRINCIPLES AND A NUMERICAL SEARCH METHOD WHICH MINIMIZES THE OPERATING COST. TWO EXAMPLES ARE GIVEN TO ILLUSTRATE THE PROCEDURE.
