Summary

PROVIDES A CRITICAL REVIEW OF CURRENT LITERATURE CONCERNING DYNAMIC MODELLING OF REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS AND HEAT PUMPS. THE COMPONENT MODELS COMPRISE COMPRESSORS, CONDENSERS, EVAPORATORS, EXPANSION VALVES, SUCTION LIQUID LINE HEAT EXCHANGERS, INTER-COOLERS FOR TWO-STAGE SYSTEMS AND PIPE CONNECTIONS. DEALS WITH THESE MODELS SEPARATELY AND COMPARES THEM CRITICALLY. DISCUSSES THE FUTURE ROLE OF MODELLING AND IDENTIFIES AREAS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH. CONCLUDES THAT MANY OF THE MODELS AVAILABLE ARE LACKING IN EXPERIMENTAL VALIDATION. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 21, N 4, 1986, 15, 86-01163.
