AN EXTENDED REDLICH-KWONG EQUATION OF STATE, WITH TWO ADJUSTED PARAMETERS ON EACH PURE COMPONENT VAPOUR PRESSURE CURVE, AND FOUR MIXTURE PARAMETERS, IS SHOWN TO GIVE A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIA FOR THE AMMONIA-WATER SYSTEM. OTHER DATA, INCLUDING ENTHALPIES, ARE SATISFACTORILY PREDICTED. HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS CAN EASILY BE DESIGNED USING THE ASPEN PLUS FLOW-SHEETING PROGRAM.
