A dimensionless number for evaluation of thermal comfort.

Author(s) : YE H., WEI R.

Summary

The PMV (Personal Mean Vote) (Fanger, 1970) Index is widely used but difficult to calculate. The paper describes a dimensionless number named HB (Heat Balance) in correlation with the percentage of sensible heat loss in total body heat production. The expression is deduced and the relation equation between PMV and HB is given, providing a new way of easily calculating PMV.
