A DIRECT, EVAPORATIVELY COOLED, THREE TON LITHIUM BROMIDE-WATER ABSORPTION CHILLER FOR SOLAR APPLICATION.
Author(s) : MERRICK R. H.
Summary
DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING OF A LITHIUM BROMIDE/WATER ABSORPTION CHILLER FOR SOLAR APPLICATION IS DESCRIBED. THE ORIGINAL WORK AND MAIN FOCUS OF THE PAPER IS THE DIRECT EVAPORATIVELY COOLED ABSORBER/CONDENSER STRUCTURE DEVELOPED TO SUPPLANT TOWER COOLED SHELL AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS. THE FEATURES OF THIS TYPE OF HARDWARE ARE COMPARED TO TOWER COOLED BROMIDE CHILLERS. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE THE MERITS OF EVAPORATIVE COOLING VS DRY AIR COOLING.
