A mobile air-cooled triple-effect absorption chiller.

Author(s) : MILLAN M. I.

Summary

15 kilowatts of heat recovered from exhaust gases of a Madrid bus provide 7 kilowatts of refrigeration used to air condition the bus. A mobile absorption machine using water/lithium bromide is used. This is insufficient. This communication presents a mobile triple-effect absorption chiller using water and lithium bromide. The design of this machine markedly improves COP. The weight and size of this chiller are similar to those of a conventional machine with a compressor.
