Summary

The aim of this work is to characterize the performance of an automotive air-conditioning system by absorption. The system behavior is modeled by solving mass and energy balances in the different components, whose performances are expressed by means of mass and thermal efficiencies. The thermodynamic state of the fluid at each node of the system is used to perform an entropy generation analysis of the system. The main dissipation phenomena are thus identified and quantified that should help to define routes for further components and system optimization.
