Summary
FOR LAMINAR FLOW IN A PIPE, A NEW EQUATION WAS FORMULATED WHICH WAS DERIVED FROM 5 LIMITING LAWS. THE EQUATION WAS COMPARED WITH RESULTS IN LITERATURE. FOR TURBULENT FLOW IN A PIPE, OTHER NEW EQUATIONS WERE FORMULATED WHICH ARE PARTLY VALID FOR PRANDTL NUMBERS LOWER THAN 0.6. THE CORRECTION FACTOR FOR THE PIPE LENGTH CAN BE CORRELATED BY AN APPROXIMATIVE FORMULA WHICH GIVES THE EQUATION FOR LARGE AND SMALL PRANDTL NUMBERS. VARIOUS EQUATIONS WERE TESTED FOR THE SIMULTANEOUSLY NECESSARY PRESSURE DROP COEFFICIENT.
