Summary
FOLLOWING THOROUGH RESEARCH, A COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN OF 125,000 M3 METHANE CARRIERS HAS JUST BEEN DEVELOPED FOR THE AUSTRALIAN PROJECT NWS (NORTH WEST SHELF). THE CHARACTERISTIC OF THESE METHANE CARRIERS IN THE ADOPTION OF 4 SPHERICAL TANKS, INSTEAD OF5 OR 6, WITH THE VIEW TO EASING LOADING AND MAINTENANCE. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO THE BASIC PERFORMANCE. A REDUCED BOIL-OFF RATE HAS ALSO BEEN COMBINED WITH A FORCED VAPORIZATION SYSTEM TO COPE FREELY WITH CHANGES IN THE SPEED OF THE SHIP.
