A new heat pump fluidized bed dryer with non-adiabatic, two-stage counter-current operation.

Author(s) : JONASSEN O., STROMMEN I.

Summary

At the Norwegian Institute of Technology, adiabatic heat pump fluidized bed driers have been developed during the last 5 years for drying of heat sensitive materials. These driers are now being industrialized by Kvaerner Eureka A/S. Because of the limitations in adiabatic drying at low temperatures with respect to drying capacities, a new nonadiabatic two-stage counter-current fluidized bed drier with heat pump has been constructed. Performances, which are much higher than traditional drying equipment, are given.
