Super heat pump energy accumulation system: results and future work.

Summary
The efficiency of multiple-stage vapour compression heat pumps has been investigated over a 9-year research programme. Special 3- and 4-stage compressors have been developed, using 2-stage economisers, together with screw and turbo expanders, to reduce compressor drive power. Chemical change mixtures are used to store heat at 200 deg C and cooling capacity at 7 deg C. A.R.T.
