A numerical and experimental research of airflow in air-conditioning system with orifice plate.

Author(s) : YU X., CHEN L., SHAO N., et al.

Summary

The project of this research is to develop guidelines for the design of the air distribution system using in the air-conditioning. It was accomplished by simulating the flow field in the working place and the static pressure chamber using a computational fluid dynamics code, by experimental testing of the air velocity and pressure in the working place. The numerical simulation of the air-conditioning system proved to be in reasonable agreement with the experimental results, while these results were qualitative rather than quantitative. In a more fundamental sense, it provides designers with an improved understanding of the flow inside a working place of air-conditioning system.
