Type of article: Article

Summary

AS THE CALCULATION OF COOLING LOADS DEPENDS MAINLY ON VARIABLE VALUES, THE DESIGNER NEEDS A PRACTICAL COMPUTATION METHOD THAT YIELDS PRECISE RESULTS. IN THE FRG, THIS IS PROVIDED BY THE SO-CALLED < COOLING LOAD RULES >, WHILE IN THE GDR, THE < ILKA-STANDARD >, BASED ON A PROCEDURE OF PETZOLD, SERVES THE SAME PURPOSE. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE FORMER USES THE TERM < COOLING LOAD >, WHEREAS THE LATTER SYSTEM IS ENTITLED < HEAT LOAD >.
