Summary

The efficiency level of a pre-range of CO2 compressors is already satisfactory, but considerable further development is still possible. Analysis shows that there is a great potential for creating very efficient CO2 compressors in the pressure range considered. This potential will be fully exploited if the dead space and the overheating of suction gas are reduced, thanks to lower gauge beam valves.
