High efficient CO2 transcritical reciprocating compressor. I. Valve plate and cylinder head 1-D flow optimization.

Author(s) : DUGAST P., BONNEFOI P.

Summary

In this article, the authors describe a new high efficient CO2 transcritical compressor architecture where valve technology choices are detailed. A first compressor efficiency optimization step was done based on the following methodology: experimental PV diagram analysis; valve plate design tool (lift, spring, ports optimization). The article is completed by the experimental validation of this initial step. See also this Bulletin, reference 2008-2465.
