A REPORT ON THE CURATIVE EFFECT OF CRYOTHERAPY BY LIQUID NITROGEN AS SEEN IN THE TREATMENT OF 5,070 CASES.

Author(s) : KE H. L.

Summary

THE REPORT IS BASED ON THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1975 TO MARCH 1988, REGARDING THE TREATMENT BY LIQUID NITROGEN OF 5,070 CASES OF BOTH BENIGN AND MALIGNANT TUMOURS AND OFCOSMETIC SURGERY. IT IS SHOWN THAT IN COMPARISON WITH SURGERY AND RADIOTHERAPY, CRYOTHERAPY CAN REDUCE DAMAGE TO TISSUE. AN IMPORTANT ADVANTAGE IS THAT IT CAN ENSURE THE NORMAL PHYSIOLOGICAL FUNCTION OF THE AFFECTED AREA. IN SPITE OF SATISFACTORY RESULTS, FURTHER EFFORTS HAVE TO BE MADE TO SCHEMATIZE AND STANDARDIZE THIS THERAPY.
