Summary
In the May 2013 ASHRAE Journal, the authors described a new approach for compliance with ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1 that was under development based on the Performance Rating Method of Appendix G to Standard 90.1.1 Since then, the approach has been finalized through Addendum bm to Standard 90.1-2013 and will be published in the 2016 edition of the standard. In the meantime, ASHRAE has published an advanced copy of Appendix G including Addendum bm and several other addenda so that software developers and energy program administrators can get a preview of what is coming in the 2016 edition of the standard.2
