A theoretical analysis of a novel NH3-H2O absorption refrigerating system.

Summary

The design criteria aimed at achieving 1 kW cooling capacity at an evaporator temperature of -7 °C, using steam as a heat driving medium (provided by a solar collector or by firing bio-gas). One of the most promising features of the system described here is the hermetic, heat-operated solution pump. A steady-state model has been set up to evaluate the theoretical performance of the cooling cycle under different operating conditions.
