SOLAR POWERED INTERMITTENT ABSORPTION COOLER.

Summary

BY USING A 0.48 M2 SOLAR COLLECTOR WITH A BLACK CHROME SELECTIVE SURFACE, AN AMMONIA ABSORPTION COOLER WAS CONSTRUCTED. THE PUMP IS DRIVEN BY AN ELECTRIC MOTOR CONNECTED TO SOLAR CELLS (10 W). THE SOLAR COLLECTOR-BOILER IS MADE UP OF A PREHEATER, ALWAYS FILLED WITH A STRONG SOLUTION AND OF A BOILER WHERE AMMONIA IS SEPARATED FROM THE SOLUTION. BY CLEAR SKY, THE PREHEATER IS AT 373 K (100 DEG C) AND THE BOILER AT 423 K (150 DEG C). AT A LATITUDE OF 23 DEG, TILTED AT 40 DEG, THE UNIT CAN PRODUCE 1.2 KG AMMONIA FROM 3 L OF A 45% AMMONIA SOLUTION.
