Summary

THE CRYOREFRIGERATOR CONSISTS OF A TWO-STAGE GIFFORD-MCMAHON REFRIGERATOR AND A JOULE-THOMSON STAGE. IT USES HIGH-PRESSURE HELIUM AS REFRIGERANT IN A CLOSED CYCLE. THEREFORE, IN THE NORMAL REFRIGERATION MODE A REFILLING OF HELIUM IS NOT NECESSARY. THE LOWEST AVAILABLE TEMPERATURE IS 4.0 K. AT 4.5 K THE REFRIGERATION CAPACITY IS MORE THAN 2 W. IN LIQUEFACTION MODE THE REFRIGERATOR IS ABLE TO LIQUEFY 0.5 L/H OF HELIUM. IT DOES NOT USE ANY LIQUID AGENTS (LIKE LIQUID NITROGEN) FOR COOLING DOWN. IT IS EASY TO HANDLE AND TO SERVICE, IS RELIABLE AND USEFUL FOR LONG-TIME TEST IN THE TEMPERATURE REGION OF THE LIQUID HELIUM.
