THE LONGEST SURVIVAL TIME REVEALED DEFROSTED SEMEN IN A MODIFIED NEW ZEALAND DILUENT (MEAN TIME -213 HR), SHORTER SURVIVED DEFROSTED SEMEN IN AN ISOTONIC SOLUTION OF SODIUM CHLORIDE (MEAN TIME -130 HR), AND THE SHORTEST SURVIVAL TIME REVEALED DEFROSTED SEMEN IN A SOLUTION OF SODIUM CITRATE WITH FRUCTOSE (MEAN TIME -97 HR). IN 113 COWS INSEMINATED WITH DEFROSTED SEMEN IN AN ISOTONIC SOLUTION OF SODIUM CHLORIDE OR IN A MODIFIED NEW ZEALAND DILUENT A HIGH INDEX OF CALVINGS WAS OBTAINED.
