A waste heat driven automotive air conditioning system.

Author(s) : TCHERNEV D.

Summary

A zeolite/water adsorption cooling system cannot be energized by exhaust low temperature waste heat in vehicles. The author has developed a zeolite/methanol adsorption cooling cycle capable of operation with waste heat sources at 100 °C temperatures, such as automotive radiator fluids or proton exchange membrane fuel cells. This cycle and its predicted performance values are described.
