Summary

AS ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS AND HEAT TRANSFORMERS OPERATE AT HIGH ER GENERATOR TEMPERATURE COMPARED TO REFRIGERATING PLANTS, PROBLEMS CAN ARISE FROM THE THERMOCHEMICAL DISSOCIATION OF AMMONIA. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER IS TO CALCULATE NUMERICAL DATA FOR AMMONIA DISSOCIATION, USING THE IDEAL GAS THEORY. IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT, WHILE EQUILIBRIUM DATA SHOW HIGH DISSOCIATED FRACTIONS, SUCH AS TO MAKE CORRECT OPERATION OF A THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE IMPOSSIBLE, THE DISSOCIATION RATE IS SO LOW THAT NO TROUBLE IS EXPECTED IN OPERATION.
