Summary

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF AN ABSORPTION EXPERIMENTAL DEVICE DEVELOPED AT THE FACULTE POLYTECHNIQUE IN MONS, FOR TESTING THE FEASIBILITY AND PERFORMANCES OF THE R22-DIMETHYLFORMAMIDE (DMF) PAIR. AFTER REVIEWING THE LIMITS OF USE AND DRAWBACKS OF CONVENTIONAL PAIRS SUCH AS AMMONIA-WATER AND WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE, THE THERMODYNAMIC DATA OF R22, OF DMF, AND ENTHALPY OF THE MIXTURE ARE PRESENTED IN DETAIL. THE METHOD OF CALCULATION IS THEN INDICATED, MAKING IT POSSIBLE TO SIMULATE THE PERFORMANCES OF A MACHINE. THE TECHNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PROTOTYPE (DEVELOPED IN THE LABORATORY) AND OF ITS INSTRUMENTATION ARE THEN PRESENTED. FINALLY, CURVES OF NET SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE ARE PRESENTED FOR A NUMBER OF EXPERIMENTAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. J.R.
