THE MODULE DESCRIBED IS THE 4-STOREY ACCOMMODATION BLOCK TO HOUSE 129 WORKERS ON A SOUTH AFRICAN OIL RIG PLATFORM. PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS AREFIRE SAFETY AND HIGH QUALITY INSTRUMENTATION. THE WHOLE MUST WITHSTAND A FIRE FOR 1 HOUR MINIMUM. STAINLESS STEEL FIRE WALLS COVER THE MODULE AND IT IS ALSO SUBDIVIDED INTO FIRE ZONES WITH FIRE/GAS DAMPERS AND FIREDOORS. THE CONSTRUCTIONPLANNING IS TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD, INVOLVING COMPUTER-PRODUCED CHARTS FOR PRODUCTIVITY AND ACTUAL VERSUS PLANNED MAN HOURS. ALL EQUIPMENT ITEMS WERE SPECIFIED TO HIGH QUALITY CONTROL STANDARDS, EACH ITEM BEING SUPPLIED WITH A DATA BOOKGIVING UPDATES OF ITS HISTORY. D.W.H.
