Summary

The chilled beam, as "hydronic" terminal element used on mixed air-water conditioning systems, is asserting more and more as an element which conjugates multiple aspects becoming very important during lasts years. This kind of terminal is mainly used in compliance with renewable energy powered system due to the minimal energy consumption and high comfort results. The "multi-nozzles" get the beam particularly sensitive and flexible. Air-flow could be adjusted during the starting up or in a second time in order to allow some building structural changes. On this document it will be discussed some characteristic of beam's as "aerial" and dimensional properties, performances data in the "occupied zone" and, especially, the meaning of having a device that is the right solution between interior architecture requirements and technical properties necessary to the indoor comfort. We are going to see how cheaper is handling and servicing a chilled beam system if compared to other conditioning systems.
