Summary

POINTS OUT THAT THE STRENGTH OF POLLUTION SOURCES AND PERCEIVED AIR QUALITY CAN BE QUANTIFIED BY THE NEW OLF AND DECIPOL UNITS. HOWEVER IN REAL LIFE SITUATIONS THE POLLUTION IS USUALLY EMITTED FROM SEVERAL SOURCES. THE QUESTION ARISES OF HOW OLF VALUES FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES CAN BE ADDED WHEN ACTIVE AT THE SAME TIME. DESCRIBES AN INVESTIGATION IN CLIMATE CHAMBER EXPERIMENTS INTO THE ADDITION OF POLLUTION SOURCES. FIVE MATERIALS, HUMAN BIOEFFLUENTS AND TOBACCO SMOKE WERE STUDIED INDIVIDUALLY AND MIXED IN 8 COMBINATIONS. FINDS FROM THE RESULTS THAT OLF VALUES CAN BE ADDED, BUT THAT FURTHER STUDIES ARE NECESSARY.
