ADJUSTMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF REFRIGERATION CYCLES WITH SCREW COMPRESSORS BY CHANGING THE BUILT-IN VOLUME RATIO.

Author(s) : BOTHE A., MULLER G.

Summary

DUE TO THE DECREASE IN THE WINTER OR MID-SEASON CONDENSATION TEMPERATURE, THE POWER CONSUMPTION TENDS TO DECREASE. THE AUTHORS CONSIDER A PLANT WITH A REFRIGERATING CAPACITY OF 150 MEGAW AND A POWER CONSUMPTION OF 2.7 MEGAW. AS THE BUILT-IN VOLUME RATIO RESULTING FROM LOWER TEMPERATURES DOES NO LONGER CORRESPOND TO THE STANDARD VOLUME RATIO THE CONTROL SLIDE SHOULD BE OPTIMIZED. THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS RESULTING IN 3 TO 13% SAVINGS IN POWER CONSUMPTION ARE PRESENTED AND CONTROL BEHAVIOUR IS DISCUSSED.
