Adsorption cycle modelling: characterization and comparison of materials.
Author(s) : NÚÑEZ T., HENNING H. M., MITTELBACH W.
Summary
Due to the different operating conditions of each application (heat pump, refrigeration, heat storage), the optimal material pair may vary. The thermodynamic characteristics are first determined and parameterized with Dubinin's theory of adsorption. In a second step, the potential of a material pair is analyzed only with Dubinin's characteristic curve. A simple criteria based on the shape of the curve and on the operating conditions proves to be very useful for a quick comparison of sorption pairs. The cycle performance of the chosen application is calculated in a third step in more detail.
