Adsorption refrigeration research and applications at SJTU.

Author(s) : WANG R. Z.

Summary

The research work on adsorption refrigeration at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) started in 1993. Several prototype adsorption refrigeration systems have been developed and tested, and reasonable experimental results have been obtained. The recent focuses on adsorption refrigeration researches are: 1/ adsorption refrigeration driven by waste heat of the exhaust gases; 2/ solar adsorption ice-making and air conditioning; 3/ adsorption heat pump for space heating. One big step for adsorption cooling applications is the achievement of a real adsorption air-conditioning system for a locomotive driver's cab.
