Carbon-ammonia sorption systems: previous experience, current projects and challenges for the future.

Author(s) : CRITOPH R. E.

Summary

Carbon-ammonia adsorption systems, developed as long ago as the late 1980s, are still not commercialised. Examples of the technology built in Warwick and in other laboratories are discussed and their advantages and disadvantages compared. As always, the key parameters are COP, specific cooling power and capital cost. New ideas that may improve the prospects for commercialisation are introduced.
